The Spark Project was created to ignite creativity, confidence, and connection through the arts for youth in Western Oklahoma. We believe every child deserves a place to be seen, heard, and celebrated—and that the arts are a powerful way to make that happen.

From theater and performance to creative exploration, The Spark Project is all about helping young people discover who they are, tell their stories, and build skills that last far beyond the stage. Whether a child dreams of being in the spotlight or is just finding the courage to try something new, we exist to light that spark.

At the heart of The Spark Project is a simple belief….when kids are given creative opportunities, amazing things happen!

About Us

Meet Our Artistic Director —

Miranda McLean

The Spark Project is proudly led by Artistic Director Miranda McLean, a passionate arts educator, dancer, director, and creative mentor who believes the arts can change lives—especially for young people.

Miranda’s heart for youth and the arts is the driving force behind The Spark Project. She is dedicated to creating welcoming, encouraging spaces where kids can grow in confidence, learn teamwork, and discover their creative voice. Her approach blends fun, structure, and imagination—making sure every participant feels supported while being challenged to shine.

With a strong background in theatre and dance, Miranda brings both professional experience and genuine care to everything she does. She believes that the arts teach more than performance—they teach leadership, empathy, discipline, and self-expression.

Most importantly, Miranda is committed to serving youth in Western Oklahoma by providing access to high-quality arts experiences close to home. Her mission is to make sure no child feels like the arts are “out of reach.”

Our Mission

Where Creativity Steals the Show

We celebrate bold ideas, happy accidents, and the magic that happens when things don’t go as planned.

Where Everyone Gets a Spotlight

We believe the arts should be available to every child, with financial aid and support making theatre more inclusive.

Professionals Behind the Curtain

Students learn directly from practicing artists who model curiosity, discipline, and a lifelong creative practice.

Building Artists, Not Just Shows

We emphasize exploration and making over polished results, helping students see value in the work itself.
